Town of Waynesville Greenway Trail System In 2000, the Town of Waynesville officially applied for and received a $250,000 enhancement grant for phase one of it's Greenway Trail System. The trail will link Lake Junaluska, Historic downtown Waynesville and the Waynesville Recreation Center. This paved, multi-use trail will be over two miles long. Plans are progressing as of May 2005. Eventually the Greenway will span from Lake Junaluska, eight miles to the west end of Waynesville. Construction should begin on the Industrial Park Corridor in July 2005.
